The commercial unit has a stainless steel motor shaft (not prone to rusting) and has a heavy duty motor and is dual voltage (can operate on 220 volts) I generally suggest the commercial unit for commercial uses, or if you have a large family or will be using the juicer often, and for long periods of time. The household unit is quite sufficient for normal household uses, although if you want the best and most durable, go with the commercial.
