Personal HomePage for avocado whore

enter only if bearing food.

i'm somewhat experimental, and have found some rawesome recipes...at least i think they're good...as many as possible of these ingredients are organic, but since it can be mighty expensive sometimes, and there are those of us that are poor, poverty-stricken students, regular ingredients will work just fine too.

*****ADDICTIVE SMOOTHIE*****

1 ripe banana

1 orange

1-2 cups spinach

1-2 cups mixed frozen veggies (carrots, peas, corn, lima beans, green beans)

1 avocado (room temperature, refrigerated, or frozen, depending on my mood)

1 other piece of whatever fruit is seasonal...peaches, apples, grapes, you know. good stuff.

i blend them in order, and use a spatula to stir, because it can turn out to be quite thick. i had to experiment with the different amounts of each ingredient that i put in before i was completely satisfied with the taste. i put it in a big cup and usually eat it with a spoon, with some raw hemp or sunflower seeds sprinkled on top. it fills me up for hours, and gives me tons of energy.

*****OKAY RAW BREAD*****

i was being creative one day and ended up making this. it was slightly bland, but very useful if it's being mixed with something more savoury.

2 cups raw sprouted chick peas

2 cups sprouts (alfalfa, flax, radish, broccoli)

1 clove garlic

1 lemon juiced

1/2 tsp cumin

a couple slices of red onion

i mixed everything together in a prosessor until smooth, spread it on a teflon tray dehydrator, set at 105 degrees, for about 12 hours, then flipped the tray upside down for 12 more hours. ended up having at least a dozen good sized pieces, enough to last awhile.

*****RAWESOME RAW BREAD*****

1 cup raw sprouted chick peas

4-5 cups mixed veggies (green beans, peas, corn, lima beans, carrots)

couple slices of red onion

1 clove garlic

1 cup raw sprouted sunflower seeds

1 cup raw sprouted almonds, with skins removed

1 tbsp cumin

1/2 tbsp masala

1 cup spinach

1 lemon, juiced

blend all in processor, spread out in dehydrator...same as last recipe...except this one turns out to have A LOT more flavour, and is more moist and not so crumbly when it gets to the final product...and it's delish!

*****THE BEST SALAD IN THE WORLD (in my opinon, that is)*****

1 bunch romaine lettuce

2 cups baby spinach

1 tomato

1/4 eggplant, sliced

1/4 zuccini squash, sliced

1 avocado, sliced

1/2 cup baby carrots, diced

1 cup snap peas

1/4 cup water chestnuts

1/4 cup sliced red pepper

1 clove garlic, diced

1 cup baby corns (i dunno what they're really called)

2 cups mushrooms, sliced

1 tray's worth of raw bread, ripped into smallish pieces

1/4 raw almonds, chopped and diced, i left the skins on this time

put in a HUGE bowl, because it ends up being huge, and toss a lot, until the avocado kinda clumps everything together

...and for the dressing...

2 avocados

2 tomatoes

1 clove garlic

1 lemon, juiced

2 ribs celery

1 tbsp fresh dill (this is lots, you might want less)

mix all this shite together in a processor, it'll be kinda liquidy, but that's how i wanted it. then after it was all mixed together, i added 1/4 cup raw sunflower seeds, and 1/8 cup raw sesame seeds to it...and VOILA!!!
