Description: This is great! Amsterdam has plenty of fruit/vegetable stands for the barest raw foods needs, but this place had a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, greens, nuts in the shell, cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil, and other amenities. For produce, you have to put the price on yourself - go over to the scale, put your produce on it, press the button for that number, press "Bon," and put the sticker on your produce! [This is very simple once you get there, but I thought I'd give you a heads up.]

Description: This is a must! I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. The shopkeeper was friendly and this was one of the few places I found with fresh green juices like the Bloody Vampire: broccoli, beets (?bloody?), celery, and I think carrot. They have recipes to choose from or you can make your own from fruits and veggies. They sell fruits for you to take home and eat, including some of the sweetest dates! They?ve got little cards that let you get a stamp for each drink, with the 10th one being free.

Description: This is one of the most interesting "fast food" joints that I've come across. Most of the menu consists of soups that were of little interest to living and raw foodists, but they had a few masterfully blended fruit juices that I enjoyed thoroughly. The price and atmosphere were a little upscale but no worse than similar juice/soup bars in the U.S., and well worth it in taste and nourishment.

Description: This was a great source of living and raw foods - fresh greens, fruits, vegetables, dates ripening on the stick, nuts, dried fruit, etc. They have bulk olives, but be forewarned ? they?re in some sort of red wine vinegar that gives them a strange and maybe un-raw taste. You might want to ask at the counter what liquid they're stored in. This looked like a corporate chain, for whatever it's worth, so you may find it in other parts of the city or even in other cities throughout Germany.

Description: This was somewhere in a main ?platz? (plaza) in Munich that had huge arches at the entrance and shops all around. The dates and cherries were incredible! I never had dates that fresh. They were smooth not wrinkled, watery not carmelly, and with only a very mild and juicy sweetness. The cherries were also amazing. Ripe, plump, juicy, sweet! It's not a shop - look for a stand that's a little island in a large plaza or pedestrian area. There may be several of them, so good luck!

Greens, dates, figs, fruits, vegetables, bags of fresh raw olives in spices, and even some delicious and nutritious algae in sea salt. There were other simple fruit and vegetable stands scattered here and there, but this was by far the most inviting place that I encountered. Bon appetite!
