I can be serious at times (when I care deeply about something) but also love a good snort and a guffaw, regularly. I'm usually active, sometimes lazy (I'm being honest here), a very good listener, a good talker (when necessary). One of my favorite quotes is from Ben Franklin, by way of my grandfather, "It is better to be thought ignorant and remain silent than to speak up and, by doing so, remove all doubt." My sense of humor runs the full gamut of anything and everything except other people's misfortune or pain. I like Monty Python, Robin Williams, Adam Sandler, Lily Tomlin ("Reality is the leading cause of stress for those in touch with it"), Steve Martin, Steven Wright, David Letterman, Condoleeza Rice (What, you don't think she's funny?).
I live in the mountains and haven't had television reception or felt cable was worth it for over nine years, and I don't miss it. I like a blend of all kinds of music (except recent country music and most hip-hop or rap) and really appreciate performances of any kind that surpass or sublimely define what a human being is capable of, whether in music or in athletics or the arts. I am confident of my own abilities and have definite goals, both long-term and more immediate as well, and believe that my life is progressing nicely in the direction I intend. Oh yeah, my pirate name is Mad John Flint. Huh?

You have definite principles and you are confident in expressing your thoughts without being opinionated (You're right, everyone else is wrong). You are open to ideas that might differ from your own.
Everyone has his own idea of "perfect." The woman who is all of the above (or most of the above) is as close to my ideal as I can think of. If the spark, the "chemistry," is there, that's what matters most and what makes it exciting.
