Description | Who am I? Hmmm...well, I'm currently an alternative healthcare practitioner living in an Atlanta. I like an environment that is relaxed, that has a natural decor and my decorating style has a nature and Japanese theme (bonsai trees, artwork ,statues)
I'm bilingual and English is technically my second language. I was born and raised in the Northeast US...and sometimes I do miss snow. :-)
I have an interesting sense of humor and I will tell really bad jokes when the mood strikes. For example, what goes tick, tock, woof? A watch dog. Stop your groaning. I would also say that I have a decent romantic streak.
My interests? Well, I like to explore ideas and my interests span the mild to the wild. I enjoy researching new ideas and incorporating them into my life. I love to read and will read almost anything if it is well written and a lot of things that are not. A booklist of favorites would be too long. A few magazines on my night stand are Natural homes, Mothering(useful information for work), and Alternative Medicine Digest (despite its commercialism).
I believe that to be happy and healthy it is important to stand for something or you will fall for anything and be good for nothing.(I can't remember the author of the quote).
I use laughter and good friends to keep myself grounded, to enjoy the simple things in life, and not to take life so seriously. I have recently (last two years) started to understand how vital communication is to the health of any relationship. |
Hobbies | Reading, Eastern philosophy/Aikido. Alternative healthcare concepts. Learning and applying what I have learned. To know more, well read the rest....
I like to take long walks, hikes, and get some resistance training in my life. I enjoy bodywork therapies like chiropractic, massage, and acupressure. Eventually, I'll try acupuncture.

Goals | To be truely happy.
I believe that to be truly happy one has to develop:intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
Spiritually: I've practiced Aikido and have a general interest in Eastern philosophy and culture in general.
I have worked with a Wiccan group, have incorporated Zen, Buddhist, and Qabalistic teachings into my life. I have also spent time in a Unitarian Universalist church.I was a Catholic by birth.
Intellect: I have an active mind and I love to learn to do new things. I also love to share what I learned with people who are close to me. This sharing process is incredibly important to me.
Physically: This includes trying to eat a sound diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables. I am still pretty new to the raw food approach and have a way to go. I try to drink clean and healthy water and make sure I get all my vitamins and minerals
Emotionally: I have struggled over the last four years to rid myself of a nasty habit...a Type-A personality. It is something I need to remain vigilant of.
My long term goals are to do well in practice and find someone to share my life with in mutual support. Maybe have a family. |
Quote | The little soon forgotten charities of a kiss or
smile, a kind look, a heartfelt compliment and the countless infinitesmals of pleasurable and genial feelings.
That quote by Coleridge nicely summmarizes my expectations for relationships and it gives a little background into my psyche. |
Ideal Mate | My goal is to meet an interesting person or two, develop a strong relationhip and see what life has to offer. I am currently in a relationship with someone I care about. Unfortunately, the relationship does not seem to be working. I am not looking to end this relationship or start another. I am looking to meet people that might have a few things in common with me.
I am looking for female friends/penpals who are kind and compassionate, as well as intelligent. She needs to know what she wants and be sure of herself. She needs to understand that a relationship is best built on cooperation and not competition. I tend to follow the middle path and avoid extremes. I'm looking for someone to connect with intellectually, emotionally, and physically(which means chemistry). I'm not looking for a clone of myself, but for someone with similarities and enough differences that I can grow with.
If anything I said echoes within you...I'd love to hear from you. |
